Inventory Control Specialist Position Summary: You will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing inventory levels optimizing service level and cost. Evaluating Vendor Performance. Support Sales and Customer Service Representatives with regard to Textile purchasing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Systematically analyze inventory levels, historical sales, costs, pricing, forecasts, and buying cycles to optimize purchasing activity. Identify, evaluate, and select ideal vendors to minimize costs while maintaining excellent product quality and delivery standards. Maintain accurate, up-to-date item specifications that optimize cost and quality.Generate and track purchase orders, approve invoices, and maintain complete and accurate records of bids, orders, and schedules. Build and maintain excellent communications with vendors, managers, and coworkers to ensure informed decision-making, accuracy of orders, and timely delivery of product. Experience with PeopleSoft and forecasting/ DRP systems a plus. Requirements: 2+ years of related inventory control. Experience working with Microsoft Excel at an advanced level. Ability to take the initiative and make independent decisions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple high priority projects in a time sensitive environment. Strong planning, analytical and strategic thinking skills; ability to see the big picture while maintaining focus on daily details.
